Portarius is a story-driven adventure-puzzle game. Lying on his deathbed, your father entrusts you with a mysterious map of the underworld and a high-tech vessel equipped with a portal gun. Rife with danger, your odyssey to the planet’s very core will take you through three unique underground sub-worlds.

Lore summary

The planet is starting to give out and it is up you, the brave pilot Portarius, to figure out the way to fix it. Before his passing, your father leaves you with a map detailing the route to the Earth’s core and a vessel equipped with a portal gun, the fruit of his lifetime devotion to science. The gun allows for easy passage underground, where any conventional means of transportation would be useless.

Detailed overview

The game consists of three chapters, each with its own unique flavour and aesthetic. This bright and colourful world is replete with enticing physics-based puzzles waiting to be solved by slow and methodical players, as well as speed-runners (the latter being eligible for special rewards).

Subterranean world

The first chapter of the game. The puzzles here revolve around utilizing common items such as rocks, metal bars and pipes in unorthodox and creative ways, using nature’s forces to your advantage.

Underwater world

In this chapter the player is set to make use of realistic liquid physics, with the puzzles centred around manipulating the flow and state of water using various tools, such as pumps or communicating vessels.

Mechanical world

The third and the most challenging chapter of the game. The way to the planet’s core is blocked by deadly phantasmagoric mechanisms that only the most capable of pilots could circumvent. Buzz saws, steam pistons, hydraulic presses – apart from being part of the artful backdrop, they also represent deadly obstacles, poised to be overcome with elaborate high-speed maneuvers and masterful portal jumps.

  • Every chapter presents a unique set of challenges and game mechanics
  • Movement is done through the use of portals
  • Artful and lush 2D graphics
  • Steam Cloud support
  • Realistic physics
  • Amazing soundtrack to complement the quirky gameplay
